Is there a link between birth control pills and anxiety?
If so, how? why?
Are there any studies/research out there about this connection?

I don't know of any actual studies. However, I've read on numerous medical sites on the web that birth control pills deplete B vitamins. These vitamins are very important for the mood. So, it's no wonder people on birth control pills become depressed, anxious, or moody.

In that case, should women on BCPs also be on Vit. B supplements?
I have heard about the b12, b6 connection too.
I should look up what foods are high in B vitamins as well.
Thanks,

Yes, I definitely think that women on bcps should take B vitamins or B complex to replenish what is being depleted. I was on Brevicon and became depressed from it. I started taking a B complex vitamin and I felt immediately better.

The pill can also slow the metabolism of caffeine, which can increase the caffeine's effect. That could cause some people to feel more anxious. (BTW, the pill affects caffeine, not the other way around, so you don't have to worry about drinking java with your pill.)
