What to expect at Mirena removal?

I've had my mirena IUD for 2 1/2 years, and we have decided to try to have another child (we have two, a boy 11-18-01 and a girl 10-06-03). So I have an appt on October 19th to have it removed. So I was wondering what to expect during and after the appointment. I have an hour and a half to do this in before I need to be at work on that day, and I haven't had a period since Aug of 04, so will i need supplies with me, and can i use tampons or just pads? Thank you for taking the time to read this and or reply to it!

Hi Stacy,

I'm not sure if you will need tampons or pads... but I can tell you that when a friend of mine had her IUD removed, she said it was much easier than having it inserted! In fact, she was lying there and all of a sudden the doctor said: There you go! And had the IUD in her hand. She hadn't felt a thing.

Good luck TTC!!!
