A New Symptom from BC

Hello Dear Ladies,
I am learning so much here. I am also very concerned about all that we are enduring while trying various forms of BC. I know that we are at the mercy of the experts. But, I can't help but wonder if we are being a bit too tolerant of these crazy side effects.
My latest concern. I was very sick after taking only 4 birth control pills. As I've mentioned, I spent the entire 4th day feeling sick to my stomach every single second of the day. The feeling did not let up. So on the 5th day there was nothing that could make me swallow another pill. I am here to admit that I must be a bit whimpy based on what other women are enduring to adjust to the pill/IUD. So this is the price I've paid for stopping the pill abruptly after only 4 days:
1st I stopped feeling sick to my stomach. Great!!!
2nd My calfs became sore.
3rd By day two I could barely walk.
4th By day two spotting started. I could still barely walk
5th By day 3 I noticed the start of a regular heavy period. Still trouble walking.
6th By day 4 I am having a heavy period with the stiffness in my calfs going away just a little. Very little.
I suffer from heavy periods. The whole point of trying the pill at age 41 was the hope of getting relief from the heavy period. So now I am having 2 periods this month. I only had a 4 day break of bleeding while I was on the pill. I am also noticing stiffness in my neck and shoulders. I am also passing more clots than ever. All of this from 4 days of pills. Oh and my stomach is so bloated. More so close to my chest. Its amazing to me that the pill affected my body so dramtically.
I was scared to death until I read some of the other post. But, no one has mentioned the stiffness in the legs that I am experiencing.
Let me say that I am in pretty good shape. I can keep up with my 10 year old. I joke with my friends about the knees not being what they used to be. Yet I am still
fit. So I just dont' get the stiffness in my legs.
All comments are soooo appreciated.
I am still smiling through all of this. I do have my moments of why me. That is why this board is helpful.

Hi smiley12006, welcome back!
Jill
Thanks Dear Jill,
I do not smoke. Never have. I did not actually have vomiting. Just felt dizzy and on the verge of vomiting all day. It in no way felt like the flu. Also, once I stopped the pill my stomach was fine again. I'm also certain that it was not stress or simply in my head. For the last couple of years since the periods have been heavy, I always have to fight off nausea the week before my period. But, its usually in the morning. Not all day. Which was another reason I wanted to try the pill.
Also, I hadn't done anything physical that would have caused me to have trouble walking. Although, I am noticing that as the period is starting to lessen, so is the leg pain. It tends to be worse at night. So I will see later. I will bring all of this to my Drs attention. I realize it could be something unrelated. Yikes.
Thanks for your thoughts. I will call my Dr on Monday.
Take care all.

Hi there,
Has your doctor ever looked into why your periods are so heavy?
