Tubal & BCP - Frustrated!

Hi!
I had my tubes tied about 2 years ago when we decided not to have any more kids. I had to go back on the pill shortly after that, since my son was born (4 years ago), I have not been regular. I would sometimes have 2 periods per month and never knew when it was going to start. I am on Ortho-TriC and now my sex drive has been gone for a while and I am starting to have breakthrough bleeding. Not to mention I have had horrible migraines for years, not pill related, but who knows if they contribute. I am tired of taking a pill every day, especially when I had my tubes done! I have read about the endo ablation, is this safe and will it help my periods not come so often? Short of having a partial hysterectomy, I dont know what else to do anymore. I am 36 years old and healthy. Thanks!

I had a tubal 3 years ago and just a few weeks ago my gyn talked to me about options to regulate my periods and decrease the heaviness. I ended up getting a prescription for a Nuvaring and just started with it on Sunday. Obviously I haven't been on long enough to really notice anything, but I liked that the dosage was less than the pill and that it was not something I had to deal with daily. I don't know anything about endo ablation, but I hope you find something that works. I'm 43 and healthy too

I have had an ablation-I had it done in May of this year.I've been on the pill since I was 18(except when I had my baby) and then went to the IUD cause my dr wouldn't put me on any more pills due to chronic high blood pressure.Loved the IUD.When I'm not using the IUD or pill I have awful periods and when she wanted to take out my IUD and tie my tubes I was nervous cause I didn't want to have to deal with awful periods anymore. So we did an ablation. The first 2 months I had heavy periods but since I've barely spotted for like 3 daysor less-my dr thinks my periods will eventually stop like they did when I had the IUD.SO I've had good experiences with my ablation. Now it was supposed to be outpatient but I had pain problems (might be because I had more procedures done at the same time--a IUD removal,D & C and the ablation) and it turned out being where I was in the hospital like 23hrs....I love not having to deal with periods.good luck in your decision.....

Thanks Sweetmiss for sharing your experience! We are 100% sure of no more kids and I would rather try that than a partial hysterectomy if it is a good option for me. I would be happy with 3 days of light flow compared to 8 days of heavier!
