Failed IUD Removal

Well, I went to my appointment to have my IUD removed, and she couldn't see the strings so she couldn't remove it. However, I can still feel the strings. One thing I noticed was that I can only feel the strings if I push down, like when I was in labor, wierd as that is. Anyway, this was at Planned Parenthood (I have insurance, they don't pay for removal though) So I called my family doctor and asked her what her cost to remove it would be. Since I'd be having it removed at my annual exam, she'll do it at the same time, at no extra charge. The bad news is that she is not able to work with my hours that I have off, the end of the year is very busy, and I just can't get away from work very much. So, i had been thinking about changing doctors due to my dr is not very knowledgable. So I made an appointment with a new dr on Oct 31 and I'm hoping that she will be able to remove the IUD at that time. I'll call next week and make sure that she can do it. We are so ready to have another baby, but I never thought that this IUD would be so much drama to have it removed. So I'm hoping to be pregnant by Dec 15. So hopefully I will be due by Sep 21 07. Anyway, wanted to vent and give you an update.

Hi perfect_angel_818,
It sounds like your strings may have been cut too short?

I typed a reply last night, but forgot to send it. Ooops! but yeah, my appointment went well. I showed up early and checked in. The nurse checked my vitals (strangely enough, blood pressure was normal, I was sooo nervous) and I waited for the dr. I met him for the first time, and he is SO nice. He's fairly young, which made me so much more comfortable. We talked and went through the normal dr visit thing. Anyway, somewhere in all the drama over making an appt they didn't realize that i was also having my yearly exam. since I lost my mother to cervical cancer, i'm very dedicated to those. So i waited while she sat up for that.
Now, the part that everyone is waiting for... He did my PAP first, and then took out the IUD. Had absolutely no problems whatsoever. I had a pretty sharp cramp when he pulled it out, but in like 2 seconds it was over. I had a bit of spotting for the rest of the afternoon, but not much, pretty much a waste of a tampon. So now it's a waiting game, since I have no idea where I am in my cycle. I'm sooo happy and excited to actually finally be TTC # 3.
