thinking of going back on the pill

hi there. I went on the pill previously to regulate my heavy periods. Yasmin was the only one that worked for me without bad side effects. the only thing is, after a few months, I'd get migraines during the off week and ended up on migraine medication for about 4 days a month. my doctor also said my blood pressure was up a tiny bit, and a pap smear revealed "endometrial tissue" residue in the uterus. after getting tired of taking medicine upon medicine, and worrying about health problems, I went off, opting for the "natural" way.

well, now after several months off of Yasmin, I'm back to very heavy periods that totally disrupt my life! I can't stand it! today I called in sick to this particular job for the first time due to having such a heavy period that I just needed to stay in bed. I feel weak and unbalanced. it's horrible! my boss is probably not happy. I'm not happy and I'm almost at the end of my rope.

it's not that I need it for actual birth control reasons. I'm 40 years old, my husband has had a vasectomy. I'm just tired of my periods completely controlling my life. seriously, if I'm invited to a party or event, I'll have to check my calendar first before accepting.

so..........a few side effects but the ability to live my life - OR - naturally horrendous periods that control my life and make me feel 'abnormal'??

know what you mean....If I'm not on the pill or IUD I had periods like that.....I've since had my tubes tied and had an ablation. So now my periods are much easier to deal with (I barely spot for 2-3 days for a period).Do you think you'd be interested in the IUD.I had the mirena for a little over 3 years and it really helped with my periods (not overnight-took a few months) but I went from heavy periods to where I was spotting a few days if I had a period.good luck.....
