Implants?

I tried doing some research on the implants (in the upper arm) but it look slike they have all been discontinued in the United States? Is that correct? I was actually getting excited about it but am bummed to see they may no longer be available... has anyone had any experience with them, or know if they are still available, and if so, if they are safe?

I have been on a rollercoaster with birth control... had a horrible experience with Yasmin, a not too good experience with Orthonovum, and tried Ortho Tricyclen Lo for a few months... but the pill has been a disaster as fas as break through bleeding... very frustrating for me...

I also tried the shot for a few months but didn't like the research they were doing with bone health... the implant seemed like a god send for me and now to see that it may have been discontinued... ahhhh!!

I have an appointment next week with my ob/gyn.. just trying to see what all you ladies may know about implants or if you have any suggestions...

HELP!

Hi,
I used the one that was discontinued and loved it. The new one is not yet widely available, but I am anxiously awaiting it. You can go to their website, Implanon.com and type in your zip code to see if anyone in your area is trained to implant it yet. Nobody in my neck of the woods yet, darn it. I currently use the shot because I breastfeed and cannot use estrogen until we wean. I am aware of the bone loss issue, but I won’t use it more than one year.
Good luck and let us know what you decide!
