One of the best resources I've found for pill interactions is the Eckerd Drugs website's drug interaction tool:

http://www2.eckerd.com/content.asp?content=pharmacy/druginteraction

It's easy to use and very complete, with OTC medications and nutritional supliments.

Also, any pharmacy will be glad to answer drug interaction questions, and they are often better informed about the latest in drug interaction information than doctors.

Okay. The name of the antibiotic is Promethazine, the other is Ciprofloxacin.

Neither the MedlinePlus Drugs and Supplements feature nor the U of MD Drug checker say anything about your meds interacting with hormonal contraceptives that I could find.

Your safest course is to use backup with ANY antibiotic.
