Cramping and missed period

I have started on the loestern 24 for probably 3 months now. And every month for like a week I get severe cramping. Like if I was to go to the bathroom I would have a major period. And to the point that I wear protection because it feels like it is coming. And last month I almost missed my period, I had very very little spotting, to the point that I really did not need to wear anything. I took a pg test to make sure and it was negative. Should I call my gyn or is this normal transition?

Several years ago I took Loestrin 1/20 for about 4 years. My periods were always very light, actually I only had a period every other month and it usually lasted for 2/3 days.At first it really freaked my out,I was taking pg test pretty often, but my dr. told me it was normal and once I got used to it, it was actually pretty nice!! I have been thinking about going back on the pill and trying Loestrin 24FE myself. The only problem I had w/ it the first time was headaches during my off week. After a few days off the active pills, I would get really bad headaches. I am hoping that maybe w/ the different dosing of the 24 FE, having shorter intervals of placebo will help w/ that. We'll see. If I were you, I would give it a try a little bit longer. Good Luck!

Thanks for your insight, I will give it a bit longer. yes it was nice having a period like that but it still freaked me out. I have not experienced any headaches.

Loestrin is one of the higher-progestin pills, which means that you may have very light or no periods while you're taking it.
