When I quit last spring, I did start ovulating on a regular schedule, but my cycles weren't proportioned right--I was ovulating on day 17 of a 25-26 day cycle. If I had been trying to get pregnant, my luteal phase (when a fertilized egg would be trying to implant) may have been too short.

the only hormonal bc I've had experience with has been the pill(and IUD)...and whenever I stopped whatever pill I was on at the time my periods always returned immediately-some when they were due and others came the first few days off the pill...

I voted one month, but actually I ovulated and got pregnant (planned) the first month off the patch.
