Stopping BC- is a late period common?

I stopped taking the Pill after the last cycle (I'm single now, don't intend to date for awhile, I need to save money, and I figured I should let my body have a break from the extra hormones). This week would technically be my placebo-pill week- the week my period always starts. It would always start on the Wednesday of that week, but the last few cycles, it was starting on Thursdays. Today is Tuesday and there has been no sign of my period- I am craving salt and stuff, but I've not had any cramps, or anything like that- I used to have more severe PMS symptoms when I was not on the Pill- they were by no means horrible, but they were more noticeable. I haven't had sex since the beginning of September (which is when my boyfriend and I broke up), so I can't be pregnant- I've had my period since then, as well. Could going off the Pill cause my period to come late? I won't start worrying until Thursday, but I was just curious. I was on the Pill for over 2 years, so I don't know what sort of effect that would have on it.

Yeah, my cycle was longer than 28 days when I wasn't on the Pill- might have been somewhat irregular too- I could never really tell (off by a day or so, nothing too severe). I've just felt really 'ick' the last day or so- guess that's from the hormone levels adjusting- when I went on the Pill 2 years ago, at first I was nauseous all the time. And not to be too TMI, but about a week and a half ago, a HUGE (I mean huge) blob of brownish mucus came out...it was super gross...I hope that was hormones too. I've only been on and off the Pill once in my life for any length of time- when I was 18/19 (dermatologist put me on it), for about 9 months. I don't remember what happened after I stopped it though.
