What a mess! So let me try to make this short, if possible...i posted this before when going through it, but i want to summarize here.
i started loestrin 24 at the start of june. since then i have had what feels like a permanent yeast infection. itching, discharge, and extreme burning during sex. ruining my newlywed sex life.
so, i went to the dr in august. nothing abnormal on my cultures, and no yeast! nothing wrong. he gives me diflucan anyway, and it starts to feel better. then worse. so he gives me another diglucan. i began to feel a littel better and sex was tolerable, so i figured it woiuld just improve. forward to october and conditions worsen. still itching and discharge, trying to avoid having sex and overall beyond frustrated. so i went back to the dr. still nothing wrong, ph is fine, no yeast, nothing.
so he gives me 5 diflucan to take one every 3 days. tells me to do kegel exercises and seems convinced that my whole problem is i'm tensing up because i'm afraid of sex hurting. and where does the itching come in?
he is also convinced it's not my pill, but said to try changing it anyway. huh??? i got a sample of yaz, which i won't be ready to start for another few weeks.
if he thinks it's not the pill should i bother switching? but i think it may be because the problem came about the veryy week i switched pills. would switching from loestrin to yaz make much of a difference?
i hope this makes sense. i am just so frustrated and so upset i need some advice.
OH, when i asked him about using back up he said for the first 2 weeks. well, that's all while i'm taking diflucan. after 2 weeks of it, will it affect my protection? that's why i asked. sheesh, i am fed up
i truly thank you all for any advice/help
