Can you get pregnant on the depo?

I know there is no method of birth control that is 100% effective, other than abstinince, but I am on the depo provera shot and I am beginning to think I am pregnant. I have gained over 20 lbs in just 4 months!! The weight has all been gained within the past 2 months, but I have been on it for four. All my weight has been gained in my lower belly, below my belly button, but above my pelvic bone. I feel a "bubble" in my lower tummy. Just a motionless lump, seems to be getting bigger every day. When I was pregnant the first time, I had morning sickness immediately. I have none yet. What my real question is, I was due for my depo on Sept. 19. I had sex with my husband on Sept. 17. Now, Nov. 3rd, I think I am pregnant. Does the shot wear thin towards the end? I'm afraid I got pregnant two days before I got my new shot. Or, could this be just another unfortunate side effect of the shot? I was pregnant with twins this time three years ago, so I am afraid of being pregnant again. Iam afraid it will be twins again!!

I knew someone that got pregnant on the pill, depo, and the patch but when she wasnt on bc she didnt get pregnant. when i was on depo i felt sick like when i was pregnant but i did a test and it was negative. now I have an IUD and recently started feeling like I could be pregnant again so i will be doing another test, i did one 2 weeks ago that was negative, and if my fiance cant find the strings then i will be going to the doctor on wednesday just for piece of mind.
