Well...I guess part of this may be more of a "relationship" question...but here goes!! I'm getting married soon and I am currently living with my fiancée. We have discussed the "children" thing and he really really wants to have kids. I'm still young enough that I haven't decided one way or the other. However, we've both agreed that right now isn't the time for us to have a child.
I have tried (in the past) both the pills and the shot. While I was on the pills, my periods were more irregular than before I started taking them. I was also on the Depo shot for a little over a year, waiting on my periods to regulate with it as well, and it never happened. The doctor I was getting the shot from kept telling me that "with the next shot, my body would regulate then". It never did. I've now moved and have a new doctor that has suggested not trying anything new until my hormones return back to normal. It has been over a year since I've had the depo shot, and my periods are still not "regular". I don't start exactlly when I'm supposed to, and the periods vary in length and in flow. All paps have came back as normal. Any ideas?
My fiancée and I have looked on the internet at different types of birth control, but I'm wondering if there is any that won't effect hormone balance? We found one that was more like a sugercial implant that lasted for up to 5 years. Is this a better option for me?
Right now I'm not on any birth control, and I'd like to have this all sorted out by the wedding next year. Thanks all!
Mandy
