Using outdated BC??

So I've had this BC for awhile, yasmin, and I decided I didn't want to take it...but then I had a pregnancy scare and decided it was time to take the plunge and started taking it when my period finally came. But then I noticed the expiration date has passed and was wondering if I should take it. I basically just wanted to try it for a couple of months to see how I reacted to BC because I've never had any hormones in my body and just be more careful with the condoms than I have been. What do you think? Should they still work enough for me to see how I react to yasmin?

call and get a new pack. the expiration dates are on there because after that date the ingredients in the pills start to break down and wont work as well. so if you dont have a script call your doc and get one if you want to start taking it. if you were to try the outdated pills there is a higher chance that you could get pregnant because of the hormones breaking down.

well i still will use condoms b/c it is the first month, plus, i'm really not good at taking them on time every day and i know that also decreases its effectiveness. I wasn't trying to use them as a form of BC as of yet, I just wanted to see how my body reacted to the hormones since I've never been on them, and how good I could be at taking them every day.

Still think I shouldn't use them? At least until I can get into my Gyn?
