Switching BC from Estro-Step to Yasmin

I was on Estro-Step for 3 months. I went on it for my skin. After, 3 months I noticed no difference in my skin and it was around $52.00 a pack. I went back to my doctor and she switch me to Yasmin. I am starting it tomorrow. It was $44.00 a pack. Not much better of a price but I am going to try it anyway. What side effects should I expect from starting a NEW birth contorl? With Estro-Step the only side effects I had were irregular bleeding all 3 months and sore breast. I never had mood swings or weight gain. I am hoping not to have any bad effects from Yasmin.

Hi again babiblue23,

The biggest difference in the progestins in Estrostep and Yasmin is what they're derived from.
All of the progestins used in birth control pills EXCEPT drospirenone are derived from testosterone.
