Allergic to this BCP?

I changed birth control from Levora to Mononessa (which has a higher estrogen content) this past summer. After about the first pack of the new pill I noticed I had vaginal itching and some redness that has persisted no matter what I do. I've changed detergents, avoided scented soaps and stuff as well as sleeping sans undies at night to help the situation - which it does... to a point. I do notice that once I start the inactive week, my itching goes away. Which leads me to suspect that perhaps I'm "allergic" to this pill, or something with the higher estrogen dosage?
The itching is not terrible, but it can be noticeable at times, there isn't any discharge or odor and I haven't noticed any bumps or lumps. Anyone had this issue or have any ideas??

the only thing i can tell you to do is call your doctor and see what they have to say. they might have to change your pills again.

Doesn't sound like an allergy to me, but, maybe you're experiencing a side effect. Have you tried yogurt, or acidophilus? If all else fails maybe a pill switch is in order.

I agree with Jill--you may have more yeast present with this pill than with your previous pill.

Thanks guys for your response! I actually switched to a higher estrogen pill because I thought what I had been on was causing me to have a very low libido. My dr thought most likely it was not from the pill but an emotional thing - but she was willing to give it a try. Well it hasn't helped that, but this isn't an effect that I wanted either!!!
I think I will call my doctor about it soon, and see what she says.

Thanks again! Glad to know I'm not the only one who's had this happen.
