Hi! Does anyone know where I can find a site to meet other couples using natural family planning? I've found plenty how-to support, etc., but no "community" so-to-speak. Thanks for any info you can share.

We can also answer some questions about natural family planning here as well--I've used it and cl-dancer31 is also familiar with the technique.

Judie, thanks for your reply. Here is a copy of what I posted on the NFP board. If you have any comments or info to share, they'd be appreciated. Have a great day!

*********************************

Hi, my name is Theresa (age 41) and my husband (also 41) and I are parents to Steve (6), Mitch (almost 3) and Meg (1). We practice Billings Natural Family Planning and are a happy couple, married 11 years. I searched for this board, looking for ladies to talk to about NFP and dealing with the inherent periodic abstinence. We hate it, but are trying to embrace it as just a part of loving each other completely and in harmony with our beliefs.

Also, I thought I'd check out other NFP methods that might have shorter waiting times than ours offers. Typically there are about 10 consecutive days of abstinence for us during the fertile cycle. What's normal for you?

The part that really gets me is that we started charting earnestly in May this year, after Meg weaned, and since May I've had only one fertile cycle, as determined by the fact that only one month did I have at least 11 days post-ovulation before beginning menses. So, after we obey the rules and struggle with the abstinence parts, we find at the completion of the cycle that we couldn't have conceived anyway.

Making sense to anyone?

Billings is cervical mucus only, isn't it?

Thanks, Judie! Indeed, Billings is CM only. Maggie did have some good advice as well, alas I believe I (we) just have to accept the abstinence part and embrace it somehow. I will check out Taking Charge of Your Fertility and appreciate that reference from you!

Again, thanks for your time, good information, and kind words!

Theresa
