Period On My Wedding! Should I skip?

I am almost at the end of my "period pills" and the way my period is, it will come and I will have been menstrating for two days during my wedding! I REALLY don't want to have my period on my wedding night! But I have never purposely skipped a period before! I don't know how to either! And I was wondering if there were any side effects to skipping your period? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi britnee814 - I think it depends on what kind of pill your on? I was on ortho cyclen for almost 10 years, and all I had to do was not take any of the "placebo" pills (the last 7 days at the end of your pack, when you would have your period) and start a new pack instead of taking those. I never had breakthrough bleeding, or spotting, but I would sometimes get kind of cranky or have a headache. I didn't have really bad side effects, but I only skipped my period maybe a handful of times. If you have questions, you can always ask your DR. :) Hope that helps. ~Jen

I can't go to my doc because I don't currently have insurance! =( I am taking lo/ovral 28 tablets . I have 4 regular pills left. I start the placebo pills this coming up sunday. The wedding is that Friday. The doctor I used to use won't answer any questions over the phone so I can't ask if I can safely skip this period without spotting or diarhea or any other weird side effect! =(

I think it would be best to ask your doctor just to make sure you wont damage anything or cause any bad side affects

Hi,
I too was supposed to have my period on my wedding day, but I asked my doctor about skipping and she told me to just start up on another pack of pills instead of taking my placebo pills. IT WORKED! She told me that it would be ok to do it for 1 month but not to do it often. I only did it that once, since it was my wedding day. If you are still looking for more info, you could try your local planned parenthood.. they would probably be able to tell you and for free. Good luck to you! Abbey
