I just started taking Lo Estrin 24 FE 4 weeks ago. I'm on my 4th FE pill and I still haven't started my period. Has anyone else skipped periods on this pill? I'm supposed to start another pack of pills tomorrow but I haven't gotten my period yet. I switched from Ortho Evra (patch) and this was my first month on Lo Estrin. Any advice will help!! Thanks.

I'm on the same pill (after a disaster with Yasmin) and I find that with each cycle it's starting a bit later and getting a bit lighter. I bet if you skip this month you won't skip the next one though. My doctor keeps telling me it takes three months for everything to get sorted out after a switch. I still wish I didn't have to take this stuff though...good luck.

What is the deal with yasmin? I hear a lot of bad stuff about it...

I don't know really-except that it has a fairly high dose of estrogen and a different type of progesterone. I had been not having period for awhile and a nurse practitioner put me on that. It was horrible. I felt sick the whole month and ended up with a 16-17 day period. It was so bad I ended up missing almost two weeks of school. Blech. I think for me it was just way too much hormones.

I was on yasmin for about 6 months and hated it too. My periods were somewhat heavy on it but I had other side effects that still bother me even now, more than a year since I stopped taking it.

I'm now on Loestrin 24FE also. I am only on the end of month 3 (on the last 3 active pills right now) but have never skipped a period. Mine usually comes like the day I take the last FE pill or the day after but I agree that it's totally common to skip a period on BCP especially one that says it lightens and shortens your period.

I started Loestrin 24 FE at the beginning of this month and have been bleeding non-stop. Has anyone else experienced this? My Doc says it could take a few months for my body to get used to the pill, but this is quite uncomfortable. Also, most people's responses I've seen about this pill indicate that they are missing periods...has anyone had bleeding while taking the white pills?

I also switched from Yasmin to Loestrin24 FE. Overall, the Loestrin is SOOO much better and I'm a lot less moody.

I did nearly skip my period the first month I was on Loestrin though and I think it only lasted about 2 days when I got it on the third or 4th day of inactive pills. I've been on it for 4 months now, and my only problem is that I spot REALLY easily. One time I took it three hours late (normally doesn't happen and now I set my cell phone alarm) and I started spotting a few hours later...for two days.

But I'm willing to deal with that right now since it's worked out so well in every other respect.

Someone was asking about spotting on Loestrin, and I had that experience as well during the first month. I spotted for about 4 or 5 days. Then when I was supposed to have my period it lasted only a day...maybe even less than a day. I think it just takes time for your body to sort itself out.

Thanks grammar-gal. So besides that problem you had the first month, are you pretty satisfied with this pill? I sure hope my body sorts this out soon!
