NuvaRing

Just wanted to get some feedback from anyone that is using the NuvaRing, or has used it in the past.
I get migraines from the birth control pill, so birth control is a really touchy situation with me. I switched to NuvaRing, and it started off great. The only problem was, I would get a week-long migraine the week I would have the ring out. My doctor put me on an estrogen patch to use the week that the ring is out, and that has solved the problem of the migraines. About two months into me using the nuvaring, my boyfriend notices changes in my mood. It's not just normal moodiness either. I was crying all the time, flying off the handle at everything, overreacting to everything, and just flat out depressed. I had no idea where this was coming from, seeing that I have absolutely no reason to be depressed. It was taking over my life and making us fight all the time, because I was always upset about something ridiculous. I did some research on the internet and found out that many people have had the same problem when they were on the ring. So while I'm glad to find out that I'm not really depressed, it's aggravating that I am having such severe side effects. At this point, its unbearable. I called my doctor today to see what we can do. I just spoke with the nurse, who was pretty much baffled.
Has anyone else had this problem with the NuvaRing, and what did you do to resolve it?
thanks so much :)

Hi bellafiorexo, welcome!

This kind of thing (mood instability) is not something that happens only to some women taking Nuvaring, it can happen to any woman using hormonal birth control.
