Hello!
I'm about to go on my honeymoon next week and of course am scheduled to get my period the same day we leave. I saw my doctor the other day and she said I could try skipping my period by continuing to take my pill through my usual off week. But after reading the "how to take your pill" info in the FAQ section, I'm a little confused. My doctor told me that, come Sunday, when I'd normally go in my off week, I should just start a new pack and take it as usual. But it sounds like from what I've read here, I shouldn't take it as usual, that instead I need to go to Phase 3 for the best chance of it working. Is this right? It's frustrating to me that my doctor wouldn't have known to give me that information. And it seems kind of like a waste of pills, doesn't it?

Hi kms82278, welcome!

Thanks for this info and for the congrats! We actually got married a couple of months ago so this honeymoon's been a long time coming.
I'm torn about what to do. Generally, I don't like messing with my pills - I always take it exactly as I should. So this is a little bit hard for me. I'm trying to weigh the benefits of doing it because the truth is, my period is pretty light and over quickly. But it would be nice to not have to deal with it, even if I do spot a little it will be a lesser version of it.
So if I take the Phase 3 pills starting this Sunday, then the following Sunday I begin my off-week, is that right? Then the week after that, I start an entirely new pill pack as usual?
