reaction to trinessa 28 s

Hi all - I'm a first-time poster here. I was on the mini-pill (progestin only) for about a year due to breastfeeding. As breastfeeding is winding down (I have a 15-mo-old son), my gyn just switched me back to regular pills. I had been off birth control in 2004 and 2005 due to TTC and then pregnancy. Prior that that, now three years ago,I was on ortho tri cyclen and never had any problems. Gyn told me there was now a generic, Trinessa. I started taking it Sunday.
Since Sunday I have felt fatigued, low-energy, and depressed. Tonight is the worst, however; I'm having shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, raspy breathing, etc. It feels like the kind of asthmatic-style reaction I had when I moved in with my then-cat-owning husband before we discovered I was allergic to cats.
I've pretty much decided I'm stopping this medication. Allergic reaction is mentioned in the medication literature as among the side effects but as "unlikely." I would like to find more info but am not getting it by googling the medication. Anyone have another medical or Rx site to suggest, or have personal experience? I am 37 years old, don't smoke or have any of the other risk factors for BCP.
Many thanks,
Cari

Hi firsttimer442, welcome!
After being off BCPs for 3 years and having a baby your natural; hormones may be very different from what they were when you stopped to TTC. The first 3 or so cycles when starting a new pill cide effects like fatigue and depressio9n are very common.

I don't want to alarm you but your symptoms could also be from a rare but much more serious condition. If I were you I would have DH or someone else if nesessary take you to an ER for evaluation. It may turn out that you are fine, I certainly hope so, but I think you need a professional diagnosis, NOW!
Please let us know what your doctor says.
Good luck, and (((HUGS)))
