Hello again. It was right about this time last Friday that I was having my surgery and I thought I would give a quick update to anyone that might be interested.
I went back to work yesterday. I didn't make it through the whole day, only stayed about 6 hours, but it was good to be up moving around again.
My stomach seems to be a bit swollen the last few days and my bellybutton is a little sore, but that's about all of my complaints. I get tired easily... yesterday my back was killing me about halfway through the day. I work in a store and am on my feet the entire time I am there, so I'm sure it's going to take me a few days of being back before I feel normal again.
For anyone that is considering this procedure that has never had any laparoscopic surgery I just wanted to share that the worst part of it for me was the Carbon Dioxide gas that is used to inflate the abdomen. On Sunday I started having a pretty bad pain under my right rib and around to my back... it stayed there until Wednesday. Apparently a gas bubble had settled there and that was causing the pain. When it finally moved it was such a relief! It had hurt to laugh, or even breathe deeply for almost 4 days... I am so glad that's gone and I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't find it's way back to that spot again.
I had no pain from the incisions at all. I hardly even noticed them. What I'm having now isn't really pain, just discomfort.
I'll check back in with you all later...

Hi Melissa,
