I don't want to be pregnant

Hi, I really need help to know when exactly is the "safe period" for women if we are going to have sex and don't want to get pregnant. I DO understand that we should use condoms every time, but what if we weren't prepared? I have been seeing this guy I really like for a couple of months now, yesterday was the first time we had sex, and the thing is, I did intend for that to happen, and it just did, and we didn't have any protection around. Honestly, I was so scared afterwards, because I have never let a guy to come inside of me without condoms, and this guy did... and now I'm nervous. Anyway, I know the most chance that a woman will get pregnant is about a week before her period. Well, I had started my period about 10 days ago, and stopped bleeding about 5 days ago. So, am I in the "safe period"? What are the chances that I might get pregnant? I do NOT want to have that happen to me right now. This won't be a good timing for me. The next time, I will have the some protection ready so I won't be nervous about it. Or better yet, I may go on birth control pill if I have to. So all of you experts out there, please let me know what you think?! Thank you in advance!

The answer to the question of what if you weren't prepared is that you could have done something like oral sex instead of intercourse, or told him you wouldn't have sex without a condom and guaranteed he would have gone out real quick and gotten some.
You really should see if you can get emergency contraception, and keep some extra around just in case. You're definitely *not* safe right now and there is a fairly good chance you could become pregnant. Ten days after your period started means you could ovulate any day now, and you can conceive if you had sex several days before. Women usually ovulate around 11 to 16 days before their next period starts, not one week before like you were thinking.
Hi
Jill
I think you are probably ok. Some doctors recommend taking both pills

Sorry, my message was a little confusing. What I meant was that I took the 2nd pill 6hrs later than 12th hour, which means that I waited until 18 hours later to take the 2nd plan B pill. I'm supposed to take it at 1:30am, but instead I took it at 7:30am, due to my mistake. Anyway, since I am still in the 72hrs window, should I go get another Plan B, start over again? Hopefully, there is no health risk. No matter what, the last I want is to get pregnant right now. I'm going to go to the pharmacy in a couple of hours, and see what the pharmacist say. I appreciate your genuine concern.
Hi again hon,
Jill
That's great!!! Thanks for the update hon!
