I have taken Marvelon 21 for 2 years. During those 2 years I battled with depression. Then I stopped taking antidepressants, and was somewhat okay without them, and had your typical PMS mood swings. After breaking up with my boyfriend, I stopped takign Marvelon 21. I felt very happy most of the time and for no reason. It was a strange feeling. something I never felt before. I would still get occasional mood swings 2 times a month it seemed.
A part of me wonders if its the Birth Control that made me depressed. REcently I started the birth control again. I havent felt the same happiness feeling I felt. It feels more forced happiness. Something good will happen, and i will think, "I am happy" but i dont feel the same happiness feeeling. I've been feeling a little depressed lately, but that could also be due to the holidays. I was wondering how can I tell if these feelings are directly related to the birth control? I've oonly been on it again for a week.

Hi old_fashioned_plain, welcome back!

final results.
I've been back on the pill for 3 weeks and took a vitamin B supplemetn for the last week of it. The results.
-with the b supplement i am not depressed but not extremely happy either.*improvement at least)
-my appetite increased greatly to the point where ive been gaining a pound or more a week.
-ive been feeling really tired as well.
I really dislike this pill, but don't feel like dealing with the hassle of trying to find one that works. I'm scared of hormones now because I only know realize how much they have changed how I feel once I stopped taking them. Before that I thought I was going crazy. I gained so much weight, and was so sad and emotional.
