new here with a depo question....

I am new here but I have a question. This isn't the first time I have been on depo. My first time I was on depo was in High School. I had no problems with it except weight gain. I was on it for two shots I believe. Well, then I went to the pills and I have two kids now lol. Only because I messed up taking them. Well, afer my second baby, I decided to go with the shot again because I didn't want to be able to mess up. I am coming up on my third shot and I am not getting it due to moving and not being around the place I normally get it. I have been feeling morning sickness and weird feelings in my belly. I feel just like I felt when I was pregnant with both of my boys. My questions are, could I be pregnant and when should my period come back? Right away? With my first time on the shot I didn't feel anything like that. I also don't remember taking a pregnancy test before I got my first shot. TIA

Can you tell us when you had your last shot and when the next one is due?
Thanks,
Holly

Ok, just wanted to make sure you were still protected. It is highly unlikely that you are pregnant, but you can take a pregnancy test to be sure.
Go ahead and buy one and the depo won't affect it, KWIM? Please let us know what you find out.
I have had a couple of twinges recently that reminded me of the baby moving, but I think it's just wishful thinking. I'm extremely careful with my birth control and am still breatfeeding:)

Hi
Jill
One shot is effective for 3 months, with the possibility of pregnancy after the end of the third month without an additional shot. The chances of getting pregnant on the shot are only 1 in 1000.
Also, the shot can be administered at any doctors office, even if you go somewhere new. The nurses SHOULD ask you when you had the last one, and if you are overdue, they should give you a pregnancy test before they give you another shot. If you are not sure, take a home pregnancy test, or schedule an appointment for another shot and the nurses will give you a pregnancy test before the shot. If you test positive for a baby, they will not give you the shot to prevent birth defects or miscarriage. If you're not pregnant, they will give you the shot and then you can ALWAYS get another one after 3 months wherever you are moving to.
Congrats.

I felt that way too when I was going off of the shot, and I became very paranoid about pregnancy. I'm not pregnant though. I got my period about 5 months after my last shot, so I think that's 2 months after it was due to wear off.
Just a warning - my first period after the shot was VERY heavy! ~
