Im just wondering. Ive been on the pill since i was 17(I am 20 now) because i was getting my periods twice a month, for a week at each time. I wasnt on it for sexual reasons. I am sexually active now,but not so much. Anyway,my question is. Is there something else that i can take besides the pill that will regulate my periods? I have posted past messages about having problems with my periods. But it has gotten to the point where i just dont want to be on the pill anymore,my boyfriend has said my mood swings arent that bad, but i am very sad/depressed on this pill.

I started on the Pill but I could not take it because I got blood clots, so I switched to Depo Provera (the Shot). Rather than taking it every day like the pill, the shot is given at the doctor's office once every 3 months and is 99.99% effective. I had a period for the first 6 months on the shot, but then I stopped getting periods altogether. Now, I do not get a period, but sometimes I get spotting right before I'm due for my next shot.
I gained a little weight at the beginning, bbut maybe it was because I had just started college, and it was just the Freshman-15.
Good Luck...I really recommend this one, and it allows you to be spontaneous!
A caution when considering the use of Depo-Provera
