What counts as a 'period'?
| Thu, 01-11-2007 - 1:17am |
This is my first month on BCP, but I had break through bleeding for about 5-6 days. I am now on the 4th day of my sugar pills, and my 'period' started yesterday. But it is extremely light! Not even enough to fill a normal tampon! I thought it would pick up today, but it hasn't. Including today, I have only used 4 regular tampons, and only because you are supposed to change them, not because I needed to. Is this because I had so much break through bleeding? Basically, is this normal or should I be worried?

Not to worry!
Thanks for you reply! I was just worried because it was so light that I could have used pantyliners...and then it ended last night, so I had bleeding for a day and half. But the break through bleeding I had was very similar to a period, so I am guessing that is why. My doctor switched me to a different pill now (Yasmin) because I was getting pretty sick on the Alesse. So hopefully, these ones work better for me. Sheesh, all the stuff they don't tell you about birth control....lol! But thank you.
