That I have been feeling distant from my boyfriend, but when I think hard about it I am completely and utterly in love with him man. So, I thought what could this be? Well I think from starting this birth control I am feeling emotionally numb & depressed.

This answers all my symptoms..
You feel miserable and sad.// Yes.
You feel exhausted a lot of the time with no energy .// Yes. Also Sick.
You feel as if even the smallest tasks are sometimes impossible. // Yes.
You seldom enjoy the things that you used to enjoy-you may be off sex or food or may 'comfort eat' to excess.// Double Yes.
You feel very anxious sometimes. // Always.

You don't want to see people or are scared to be left alone. Social activity may feel hard or impossible.// Feeling distant yes.

You find it difficult to think clearly.// Yes.

You feel like a failure and/or feel guilty a lot of the time.// Guilty that I feel distant.

You feel a burden to others.// Yes.

You can see no future. // Just last month I wanted to Marry this man. Now I am scared and don't know if I could.
You feel irritable or angry more than usual.// Snappy.

You feel you have no confidence.// Duh.

You spend a lot of time thinking about what has gone wrong, what will go wrong or what is wrong about yourself as a person. You may also feel guilty sometimes about being critical of others (or even thinking critically about them).// Yup!
You feel that life is unfair.// Yup!

You have difficulty sleeping or wake up very early in the morning and can't sleep again. You seem to dream all night long and sometimes have disturbing dreams.// Always.

You feel that life has/is 'passing you by.' // Yup.

You may have physical aches and pains which appear to have no physical cause, such as back pain. //Yup.

K, so Now that I have it. What do I do about it? Has anyone else had this in their first months?

I'm so scared, I know it's the pills though because this has happened before.

But How long will it last? I am finished my first month on it. Will it be ok next month?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Which pill are you on?
When I first started taking Allesse I was very depressed in the beginning which lasted from about Nov-Feb, I went to a walk-in clinic and the doctor told me that if Allesse did that to me, then they probably all will. So I stuck it out and it got a lot better, but every few months, it happens again.
hope you feel better soon!

If the pill is making life this miserable for you, then I think you need to stop! Seriously- it's not worth putting yourself- and the people that love you-

I was actually coming to this board to post something very, very similar when my eye caught the title of your post. What you have written fits me perfectly! I switched from being on OrthoCept of five years due to feeling grouchy all the time. My gyn switched me to OrthoCyclen. I feel everything on the list fits me perfectly. This new pill was to make me feel much better mood wise but it is like double the bad moods from before-- just fitting perfectly of your check list. I've been on OrthoCyclen now for I want to say almost four/five months. A friend of mine acutally went off the pill due to the very same feelings and got an IUD and now feels much better. You are not alone in how you feel ((hugs)) I'm contemplating going off the pill but am terrified since having been on it for so long and I'm uncomfortable/untrusting of other birth control methods. I'm planning on talking with my primary doc when I go for my annual in a couple weeks.

Your first three months on the pill tend to be a little irregular. You can see your doctor after that because they will assume that your hormones will "even out" after three months. If three months feels like too long for you, call your doctor. My guess is that if you just started taking the pill, you'll have to see your doctor soon for a blood pressure check. Talk to your doctor then.
My pills affect me differently every month. Some months I'm fine, and other months I'm depressed and emotional, and almost crazy. It was hard for a while. I had a friend whose pills made her so depressed that she sought treatment for depression before realizing it was the pills. She went off them and felt better almost instantly. Everybody's different. Give it a little time, and talk to your doctor.
