ok this is my first time posting here.

I have a question and I thought this might be the place to get an answer or some advice.

I have been with my partner for nearly 2 years and we have used the withdraml method as the only form of BC. Well my last period was a little strange and was shorter than normal. I have been eating like a horse before my last period and since on and of. well my period was due yesterday and it still isn't here. My breast are swollen, my stomach is swollen, my back is killing me. I am starting to think I might be pregnant. What are my chances of being pregnant with the with drawl method.

Also my partner doesn't like wearing comdoms and I am scared of going on the pill because I heard it caused in fertility and weight gain. It has taken me 2 years to loss 50 pounds, I didnt gon on a diet I controlled my portions and fat in take. Along with daily exercise, so I am scared of putting it on again. What kind of birth control would you advise.

Also I live in Turkey and have no trust in the medical system here and am afaird to go to the doctor.

Any advice would be greatly appericated.

Sounds like you're pregnant to me, and you should test.

You can still get a period if you're pregnant, but normally they are lighter and shorter than what you'd normally get, and with your other symptoms, I'm pretty certain you're probably pregnant.

The failure rate for the withdrawal method is 19% for typical users, and 4% with perfect use (meaning withdraw well before ejaculation is imminent), so the chances of getting pregnant on the withdrawal method are high.

The pill does not cause infertility. What causes infertility is other issues going on with a woman, such as potential problems that existed before taking the pill. Many women take the pill because they have irregular cycles, and they want to regulate their cycles. All the pill does is hide the symptoms of the irregular cycle. The actual cause of the irregular cycles do not go away, and in many cases the problem will worsen while a woman is on the pill. Once she comes off it, she doesn't find out until she has problems with her cycle, or has trouble conceiving that there is a problem.

Another thing with the pill is that every woman's body adapts differently to each pill, so it can take some women less than a month to get back to ovulating and having normal cycles, and other women can take over a year. Hormonal supplements, or herbal supplements can aide the body in repair of these issues.

The pill is not statistically proven to cause weight gain. The only method of birth control that is proven to cause weight gain is the Depo Provera shot. Yes, some women do experience some weight gain on the pill, but this is a very small number.

If you don't want to use condoms, and don't want to take the pill, you should look into using a barrier method like a diaphragm or cap. Another option would be NFP, which involves charting temperature, cervical mucous and cervical position every day, and avoiding sex on the days that you are fertile. Used correctly, this method is as effective as the pill. Toni Weschler's "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is a great book to learn about this, and you can buy it from Amazon.com. If none of those appeal to you, then the only other option is to use spermicides in addition to the withdrawal method, to give you added protection.

Congratulations!

No seriously, go buy a test. You're probably pregnant. Then call your doc and set up an appointment for some prenatal care.

If by some very very slim chance you aren't pregnant, you need to get on some kind of birth control or begin using something or you will be soon.

Good luck to you

Thank you all for your advice. I just thought I would post a update.

Well I tested and it was neg. AF showed up the next day. We have since started using BC(talked my BF in to wearing condoms, we found a thin condom so he could still feel inside, but it is a good brand and reliable).

So thank you all again.
