Hormone BC affecting long term fertility

I'm 6 weeks away from having baby #2. I have had 3 misscarriage. I felt homronally messed up after baby #1 for a long time. I've never felt quite normal since. I am very afraid to add another factor into the equation by using hormonal bc.
I need to know what BC i will be on sometime soon so that i can tell my doctor and get a script, if necessary, for after this baby is born. We want more children and want to be able to have them when we are ready for them. non-hormonal bc drawbacks are, they are difficult to use & not as affective, especially if used wrong.
Since I don't want to get pregnant again for several years I would like to use something other than condoms, we've had problems with them coming off and that's just scary, plus the inconvenience of them.
1. Are there any stats or REAL information on the longterm effects of hormonal bc on fertility? in other words, does using them have an effect on being able to get pregnant later or ever cause misscarriages?
2. How difficult and comfortable are diaphragms? Can i learn to use it well and be as effective as other bc?
PLease give me info!
Maggie

Hi Maggie, welcome!
Jill
Dancer,
ok, so an IUD. I have looked into them. It sounds like such a great idea because of the comfort, effectiveness, and low mainteneance, how nice! But then when i figured out exactly how they work, I feel very uncomfortable with that.
Tell me if I'm wrong. They decrease the chances of and egg becoming fertilized---which i am fine with that part. But occasionally an egg can become fertilzed. The IUD prevents the lining of the uterus to form and therefore the fertilized egg cannot implant, causing it to be "passed".
This is totally just my own feelings. But, personally, I feel morally wrong with that. My belief is that life begins at conception and doing something other than helping that life grow is wrong for me.
Please tell me if I misunderstand how the IUD works. If this is not so, I'd like to know.
Thank you again,
Maggie

“Clinical Pharmacology
The contraceptive effectiveness of ParaGard is enhanced by copper being continuously released into the uterine cavity. Possible mechanism(s) by which copper enhances contraceptive efficacy include interference with sperm transport or fertilization and prevention of implantation.”
