hi i've not had a period for 3 months and i'm not pregnent, so i guess its the start of the menopause.Can anyone tell me do i need to still use birth control or is it more or less impossible to get pregnent? many thanks b

I agree! It is still very possible for you to get pregnant. And, just because you don't have a period every month doesn't mean that you won't be ovulating the next month, and then the next month you'd be pregnant. KWIM?

I have been having very irregular periods (I'm 40) but I'm still breastfeeding so that's at least part of it. My mother was 41 or 42 when she went through menopause after having me. So, I have wondered if I would go through a fairly early menopause.

I would suggest you go see your physician and have a discussion about what your options are, and maybe a good physical to make sure nothing else is going on.
