Am I being paranoid ?

I have been on microgestrin BC for 2 1/2 years. I have never had any problems. I am in a commited relationship for about a 1 1/2 now. We have unprotected sex, I am on time everyday with my pill. For the past four months I have been trying to find an anxiety medicine and now I am wondering if those have any affect on the effectiveness of the BC. I got my period Jan 2nd, and I am due to get it again next week. My boobs are slightly sore but they usually get that way every month right before I get my period. I dont know if I should worry or I am just being paranoid? Help!

Jill,

I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me no it does interfier with the effectiveness of BC. I have been having a little back pain also, do you usually get that right before you get your period? Thanks for all of your advice.

I don't know which pill you are on, but you might want to ask your pharmacist for a professional opinion and see what s/he says. If it does interact, it is important to know how it interacts.

PMS symptoms can be normal when you take the pill, and for some women that also includes lower back pain (which can also be caused by a lot of different things).

It's very important that you talk to your pharmacist about the exact drugs that you're taking to see if there's a problem.

Hey Jill,

I did get my period on time this week. It has been really light, like it was last month. But I do have cramps and the normal PMS symptoms. Is this unusual? Thanks for your advice.
