Hi there,

I have been off of BC for a year now and I am thinking of going back on the pill. I have tried so many different types and havent really been totally happy with anything, which is a reason I went off. I was on depo for two years as well which caused me to gain a ton of weight that was totally out of control.
The main problems I have had with the pill is the breast tenderness. It would be so bad. And lack of a sex drive.
I was on Alesse a few years ago and I got crazy emotional on it, but I think part of that might have been that I had switched from another pill. I am wondering if after being off of BC totally will make a difference.
I also found myself very prone to infections when i was on BC. I used to get a lot of UIs and yeast infections.
So bascially I am asking for any advice lol. I have a dr appointment monday afternoon and want to have some idea of what I want. ( I also tried nuva ring and didnt like it)

went to the dr today and she put me on Ortho tricyclin lo. I told her I wanted to be on something with a low dose or hormones. I am pretty freaked about going back on the pill. If it werent for the anger and sadness I have been feeling I would stay off of it.

How have other people liked this pill?

I haven't tried that pill, but I also have problems with breast tenderness--both on the pill and off. I agree that limiting caffeine can be helpful, however I'm a huge Diet Coke addict! I try to be good, but sometimes the caffeine and the breast pain get the better of me.

I have found that exercising really helps to relieve my breast tenderness. Usually some low impact aerobics or something that gets my heart rate up a bit does the trick. Yoga is helpful, too. It doesn't take much activity to alleviate some of the discomfort. Just 15 to 30 minutes is enough most of the time. Warm baths and gentle massaging help, too. (My boyfriend is always eager to help with the massaging. Imagine that!)

Good luck with your new pill!

I dont drink a lot of caffine, and I am a dance teacher/dancer so I do get a lot of regular exercise. I am hoping after taking a break things will be better.
I am just a little frustrated because I dont feel like my Dr really was taking the time to listen to my concern. Oh well... I have a couple weeks before I start it anyway.

Thanks for the help!
