Continuous BC Pill Question

Ok I'm totally confused. I started this whole continuous pill thing on Dec 17 where I take the pill continously for several months and only have a period 4 times a year. I have been on regular 28 day, monophasic BCP for many years and my doctor and I have discussed this many times and I finally decided to do it because I think my severe headaches are linked to my periods and I'm sick of taking time off work. (So far so good on this method - no breakthru bleeding or spotting, just some light cramps at night for a couple nights.)

So when do I go off the pill for my period? March or April? Do I count Dec to Jan as one month or start counting Jan as the first month?

I did an online search and didn't find any good info to answer my question. And how long do I go off? For one week? What happens if my period doesn't come that week? Keep taking the pill?
I have a gyno appointment on March 20 and by my calculations I will be in a period week that week if I go off it in March, if I wait until April, then I would go off it on April 1. I can't wait until my appointment to get the answer. I am with an HMO and you might know how difficult it is talk to anyone or get an appointment quickly.

I'm so confused. Please help.

Well, after talking this out with a girlfriend we finally figured out exactly what you are saying. I will count pill packs - go off for a week after pack #4. Duh. It seems so simple now. I'll keep you posted on how it goes for me. I am most excited about the fact that I have a leg up over mother nature and have control over my Aunt Flo, as you call her. Who doesn't want control over a nasty aunt??
Thanks for your input!
