BC Backup options with BCP pill

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 5 months now, and we've been having protected sex with condoms for the past month or so. I also have been taking BCP (Yasmin 28) for about 4.5 years, diligently at or within 2 hours of the same time every day (8:00am). We have both been checked for STDs and are clear, so the only concern we have in regards to sex is pregnancy.
My bf doesn't mind using condoms, except that 50% of the time he can't feel anything while wearing them, which makes sex literally anti-climatic for him. We've already discussed the need to have a secondary BC option in addition to my taking BCP, especially in light of a friend of mine getting pregnant while still on the pill after her husband stopped using condoms.
At this point we're still using condoms as our backup until we decide on something that'll make sex enjoyable for my bf everytime. I'm leaning towards a cervical cap or diaphragm, but I'm wondering what the effectiveness of other barrier methods are in conjunction with the pill, and what would work best with the "spontaneous" sex we have now.
Thanks in advance!
Jennifer

Hi prettypen422, welcome!
Jill
Thanks for the info, Jill. I'm not sure the sponge would be an option for me, I've never even seen them at any of the drug stores or pharmacies in my area. My bf and I have discussed the options, and we're going to continue using condoms until I can get an appointment with my gyno to get fitted for a cervical cap. Fortunately for us, the health center at the university in town sells 10 condoms for a dollar (and they're Lifestyles too, the kind we prefer).
