New to BC & this board! :)

I'm new to this board, but I've been reading it for awhile and have some questions. I'm 28 and just started having sex. I finally met the right person and just felt it was the right time. Anyway, I started birth control pills two weeks ago- I'm on Yasmin. I was a Sunday start, which happened to be the 2nd day of my period. My doctor advised me to start on the first Sunday of my period, so it worked out well that I was about to get it after I went to see the doctor. Anyway, the first 4-5 days on Yasmin was rough- I felt sick to my stomach and very tired. It was almost like I was pregnant or something. However, once I took my 6th pill and on into my second week, I've hardly had symptoms at all. I don't feel sick to my stomach anymore. Is this normal? I just thought that I would experience more symptoms, or that these symptoms would at least last longer. It's almost like I want to have some more nausea so I'll know the pills are working! (Ok, not really but you know what I mean!) Now I take it and just don't feel anything. I just want to know if this is normal, and if you think that's it is working. I've taken it at the same time everyday, and I plan to continue doing this.

Also-- BCP is my only method of contraception. We were using condoms but he hates to b/c he loses it, so I'm hoping that BCP will be enough. He does use the withdrawal method, so I hope that I am doing enough to not get pregnant! If I do want him to go inside of me, should I still be okay since I'm on BCP? Oh, and I'm not worried about STDs with him. We are completely monogamous & in a serious relationship.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks so much.
