Medication and Birth Control

My doctor told me I have pnemonia and also perscribed me about 5 different medications. I have a nasal spray, ear drops, 2 inhalers and a cough suppresant with codein.
I know that medications can alter the affectiveness of the BC. But how long after I take the medication do we have to use alternative methods of birth control as precaution?
Both my husband and I don't like condoms very much, so the less time with them, the better.
I'm not really interested in doing anything at the moment, but I am supposed to take the medication for 2 weeks. I am sure I will feel much better by then and will want to be with my husband before the medication is done.

Hi again plainjane2005, welcome!
