Will the side effects go away?

I just started taking Trinessa(generic for Ortho Tri-Cyclen) Sunday. I haven't been on BC since TTC in 2002 and our DD was born in 2005. I have never had any side effects while on the pill before and I have been on Ortho before TTC. I take my pill with food but my stomach is still upset most of the time. I also have headaches which I hardly ever got before the pill. I know I'm not sick or pregnant and the only thing I can think of is the pills. How long should I deal with the side effects before asking my OB to try a different pill? Would a different pill help?

Thanks, Alicia

What time of day do you take your pill? I used to be on Trinessa; intitally I took my pill first thing in the morning with breakfast and felt nauseated for several hours afterwards. I eventually switched the time & found that taking the pill without food a few hours after dinner (for me, around 10pm) mitigated the upset stomach feeling.

I thought I was doing it right by taking it with breakfast because I didn't want to be sick during the night. I'm taking them like you did and have notice a big improvement this week. Thank you.

Thanks for responding and I feel much better now since changing the time I take my pill.
