Switching pills - lower estrogen pill

Hello!
I was previously on Ortho Tri-Cyclen when I started having night sweats which lead to insomnia about a month and half ago. I am only 36. Two weeks ago, my gyn switched me to Microgestin FE which is apparently a lower estrogen pill and for the last 3 nights I have not had a single night sweat and I have actually slept! I did however have breakthrough bleeding that started on Sunday and lasted for 2 1/2 days. That was worth finally sleeping. I am confused as to why all of a sudden after taking the Ortho-TriC for so many years why it would be too much estrogen for my body. Did I start producing too much on my own and combined with the pill it was overload? What would cause that if so? Thanks!

Hi nicksmommy6702, welcome!
Jill
I know everyone is diff. and especially our bodies. For what it's worth, I am on Microgestin FE 24 and I haven't had any problems what so ever. Thank goodness I never experienced BTB spotting or any of those symptoms ladies talk about when starting a new pill. The only thing I've noticed is a little bloating or water retention around my waist line, but nothing I can't live w/. Anyway hang in there and hope it works out for you. It is one of the lowest pills on the market and I'm liking it.
Have a great weekend!
