Freaked out, help?

I'm 20 years old. Last Saturday (8 days ago), I was having sex with my boyfriend and the condom broke. I took Plan B within two hours of it happening, but didn't really experience any of the symptoms except for some dizziness. My period is only two days late at this point, but obviously, I am freaked out.

Has anyone else used Plan B and would be willing to share their experience with it? Also, I'm wondering when is the earliest time I should take a pregnancy test to guarantee its effectiveness.

Thank you!

Hi there,

Because Plan B is a huge dose of progestin (artificial progesterone), it causes a huge spike in artificial hormones, which can confuse your body and cause your period to be late.

I know I must sound crazy and paranoid. I just threw up. It could be any number of things--ever since the incident, I've been fairly anxiety-ridden and could have just worked myself up to a point of sickness, I also had gross food tonight, etc., etc. But naturally I've convinced myself I'm pregnant.

It's 2:30 in the morning and I am so terrified. Is anyone awake? Can someone talk to me?

Okay, I just took a test. NEGATIVE.

Thank you everyone.

Gross food and anxiety can DEFINITELY make you throw up, especially if you feel like you just ought to.

I took Plan B a number of months ago, and honestly I didn't notice anything to be different from how it usually is. BUT I'm also using hormonal birth control, which kind of helps with the big hormone swings that go along with Plan B (which can also make you nauseous).

For the future, you might want to start using spermicide with the condoms--the two together are as good as hormonal birth control.

Hi AGAIN.

Okay, well, I still haven't had my period, but I'm actually not too worried about that--my cycle was way off last month and I expected it to be delayed this month.

I took another test today and it again told me that I am not pregnant, and I believe it. I'm obviously not going to feel 100% fantastic until I actually have my period, but I'm more than confident than I'm okay at this point.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and help, I would have been even more of a basketcase without it.
