Please, no period!

So I just started seeing a really great lover and I want to see him again asap but my period started yesterday. I went ahead and got a prescription filled for birth control pills (I had gone off it for a few months ironically b/c I wasn't having sex) and started taking them today (even though it says to start on Sunday). Will my period stop in a couple of days since I'm taking them? Anyone know?

Alright so I talked to my gynecologist's nurse. I had taken the morning-after pill on Tuesday (after having intercourse with this new lover) and then started taking the Pill (sprintec) on Thursday. But when I started on Thursday it was to get rid of my period so I took two Sprintecs yesterday and two today. Other than feeling a little nauseated and having a small amount of bleeding I'm doing okay. Nurse said I am fine to do that. Anyone else double up their birth control pills to stop a period.

In about a week, I'll stop taking the pills for a week so that I can have a normal period.

Thoughts?

Well on Thursday I started taking two birth control pills every day to stop/postpone my period but my period has been here since then. :( It's slowing down a little bit but I've stopped taking two a day and am only taking one a day now so who knows when it'll ever go away. The new lover called last night and I couldn't let him come over. :(

The softcups kinda give me the heebie-jeepies so that isn't an option for me.

Doubling up birth control pills won't guarantee that your period will stop.
