ok to shorten length of period?

I'm starting to show a little break through bleeding... only on week five about of trying to go 12 weeks without a period. If the btb continues more, I'll go ahead and break for period. I'm wondering though if I can like go three days of non-active and then start active again. I'm assuming so since there are certain commercials that advertise this. When I go on placebo pills though my period usually doesn't come until like the second placebo and lasts the remaining placebos. My period is usually heavy (to my "standards") Is it ok to do this like if the day the period actually comes or the day after having it or so go back on actives? I know not to go more than seven days of placebos. I'm wondering if I can shorten the time taken of placebos or will this totally mess things up for me more? I hope this makes sense.

You don't HAVE to stop for seven days, it just makes it easier to keep track of where you are and when you should start your next three month cycle.

I've had placebo "weeks" of as little as 3-4 days and it hasn't been a big deal.

Hi Judie,
So it is ok to stop my period like after a full day of having it?

Thank you, Jill!
Last night my period came full-force. (so far this morning there is nothing... funny how it works) so anyway, I took a placebo pill today... I'll start actives again on Saturday. Sounds like a plan.

It is strange how before I could skip 8 weeks now this time only 4 weeks I could skip... go figure.

PS-
Thanks for the response regarding breast pain. It only lasted that day or so... guess it was pms related.
