Nuvaring after LT BCP?

Hi,

I am looking for feedback from people who switched to Nuvaring after taking bcp's for a long time (18+ years for me). I went off the pill and love the return of my sex drive, better moods, etc. I just put in a ring yesterday and now am having second thoughts if I should even bother. I know the hormones are lower but did anyone find that they had the same effects with the ring as the pill, such as low libido? Did anyone have a positive experience with the ring v. pill with libido? Having scrapped the IUD issue after receiving input on this board, I am "back to the drawing board." I guess I won't know until I've tried this ring, but just curious what previous pill users think. Thanks!!

I've never used the ring. I don't think I saw your post asking about the IUD. I just got one and LOVE it.

I hope the ring works out for you. I know alot of women really like it because the hormones are localized and that seems to make a difference for a lot of people. I'm sure you'll get good info.

Libido is really hard to pin down.

Thanks everyone. And Judie, you're right - libido is affected by so many things it is difficult to pinpoint to any one thing. I put in the ring about four days so we'll see how it goes. The one thing I missed going off the pill was having a period (I didn't get one for 4 years), so hopefully the ring will minimize it as well. I'll keep everyone posted with my success/failure with this.
