I was just wondering, what are the chances that women get pregnant while they are on BCP? And do the chances increase if you let the man ejaculate inside you? Or does it NOT matter because you're on BCP? Just questions. thanks for the future replies! =)

You can check the FAQ section for actual stats on BCP but it doesn't matter if you use the withdrawl method because if you take your pills correctly there is no egg to fertilize. It's fairly uncommon to get pregnant on it. I was on the pill for over 4 years and I never had a problem, and my DH and I were having regular sex and not using withdrawl.

Be sure to take your pill at the same time every day and not miss any and you should be fine.

That's a BIG yes on getting preggo!! I'm walking proof!! I just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Feb. 1, 2007. I was on yasmin and took it same time every day! Very religious about it. Never missed a dose in the 3 years I was on it. My husband and I never used any other form of BC while I was on the pill and he did ejaculate in me. But, no birth control is 100% effective...thats what I just keep reminding myself. However, I wouldn't change how things are now for anything in this world. Our daughter is the best thing that has ever happened to us!! So just keep that in mind..chances are if you take it correctly you won't get preggo...but it can and does happen!!!!!!!!!! :)

Hi,

I've been on the pill for 3 years (recently changed to nuva ring though) and my SO and I have never used withdrawal method but did use condoms if I was on antibiotics. The pill is 99% for perfect use (a bit lower with imperfect use) but no birth control is going to offer 100% protection. Not preggers so far thankfully. I really doubt that the withdrawal method makes much of a difference, considering that sperm is released well before the man ejaculates.
