After having my second child i started birth control right away after I decided to discontinue breast feeding. I took my pills as a day 1 start and also took the pill without having a period so im not sure if i started them correctly
i have been trying to reach my doctor since mid January. Anyway after hunting my doc down her secertery finally called me a little over a week ago to tell me the doctor has perscribed lutera(the generic to Alesse). I have been trying to reach my doctor since then and i have had no luck. I was currently on my second week of orthro tri cyclen lo pills, but the pharmasist told me to stop taking the pills until my period and then begin the new brand. when i picked up my new pills yesterday morning at the pharmacy another pharmasist gave me diffrent advice. Now its been four days i havent taken my pill and im bleeding and dont know wether its my period or if the blood is due to the fact i havent taken my pill in four days.
My question is how do i swicth over? do i start the new brand this sunday or should i wait for signs of a period? Please help im confused!!!
Thank you in advance..

Because you're on the pill, the only reason that you have bleeding is because you aren't taking active pills--you are not ovulating so you won't have real periods.
