Making sure I have my facts straight...

Hi Everyone,
It's been a long time since I've posted on here. Anyway, I have been in a committed sexual relationship with my partner for a couple of months now and we've started to discuss no longer using condoms. I am on the pill. I think it's called lo-ovral (it's a monophasic pill). I take in back to back, similar to the Seasonale pill (4 packs straight, then a 7 day break). I understand that the effectiveness of the pill is around 99%. I'm just being paranoid and spazzing out about the idea of not using condoms. I want to make sure that the way I am choosing to take my pill (4 packs, then a break) is just as effective as taking it the usual way (1 pack, then a break). I know that it is important to take it at the same time every day, and to not allow more than 7 days of "break" for my period. Anwyay, I just want to make sure that the way I am taking my pill isn't putting me at any greater risk of getting pregnant. Thanks for the help. I am excited about the idea of no longer using condoms, I just want to make sure I have all of my facts straight.

I did that with my pills too. My doctor was the one that suggested I do it because it was before Sesonale came out. It is just as effective and as long as you take it at the same time and only allow a 7 day break you're fine. My DH and I used this method for 4 years (and no withdrawl either) and never had a scare.
Then I went off it to get pregnant had my baby and now I'm using an IUD.

I use only Nuvaring--no other form of birth control, and I've been using hormonal birth control that way for 10 years with no problem.
Taking packs back to back is at least just as effective as taking packs as directed (one at a time).
