the pill and sex

i first start off my first 2 months of taking the birth control pill with ortho-tri cyclen lo, never missed a day. i would take it a few hours late at times, but never a full day. i ended my last period on a saturday, and that saturday NIGHT i had unprotected sex with my husband. we do NOT wish to get pregnant yet, so we are concerned. that sunday(i'm a sunday pill-taker), they started me off with the generic tri-nessa brand of birth control. i feel that i ovulated a few weeks ago. i had mild cramping, breast tenderness(and have had breast tenderness since my last period..), and thick/mucus/white discharge. i'm almost positive that i ovulated. if i DID ovulate, i'm obviously not pregnant. but ovulating means this brand of pill is not working, so could my period be late because of that? i will be a day late tomorrow, and am concerned. i have had NO signs of pregnancy besides breast tenderness.

also, i called me doctor to put me on a different brand of birth control, since i had a feeling that i ovulated and the pill wasn't working. i'm supposed to take it sunday. if i do not get my period by sunday, should i still start the new pack?

is there a chance i COULD be pregnant? i didn't think i had to worry about the unprotected sex, since i had NEVER missed a day on my birth control(and was on it 2 months before), AND my period just ended that day. PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE!! i hope all of this makes sense. i'm tryin to get in all the info that i can.

i know i know i know, i know i should have waited but i already called the doctor :\. but i still would like to know if by sunday, if i have gotten my period or not, if i should start that new pack (i already picked it up cuz my doctor called it in). and when i swtiched to tri-nessa, the pharmacist did that, not me. its just the generic brand of ortho i guess.

you're right, it's highly unlikely that i am pregnant. and i'm just thinking, that if i'm NOT regular, if tri-nessa hasn't been working quite right yet, if my period WILL be off. and i AM new to BCPs, so i'm not sure if being "late" is normal? i had it in my head (because of being on ortho) i always got my period the first day after taking my first placebo pill. so maybe tri-nessa IS different. i want to take a pregnancy test, JUST beacuse i need reassurance. i've NEVER missed a day and take them pretty much around the same time every day. beacuse i ended my period the DAY that we had unprotected sex, does that make my chances of getting pregnant any less?

i'll definately let you know, that by if sunday i have my period or not. or i'll post back saturday night. i should just wait until i get my period, then take it that sunday after, just like i'm starting over- starting fresh. you're right, i dont want to confuse my body or get myself sick. and i should've stayed with tri-nessa but i already paid for this pack of new stuff, and i'm going to stay on this stuff reguardless.

i'm not as concerned with being pregnant anymore, but when your period's late it's the FIRST thing you think of!! no, we did not use a condom. but like i said, i never missed a day. i mean, i've taken it a couple of hours late before, but that's harmless. and at the time that this happened, i was on ortho-try cyclen for about 2 months. so it wasn't like i was switching pills, and my body was messed up.

i think i might try and take that "first-response" test. because it says that it's accurate 5 days BEFORE your missed period. and this WAS a month ago (the unprotected..yet..protected with birth control..incedent). i have no signs of being pregnant! i have had NO nausea, i do take naps..but i always have!!, and my breasts are always so sensitive in the first place. i just don't "feel pregnant" i don't feel any different. and you start your symptoms atleast 3 weeks after conception, right?

i just need reassurance..thanks for being there! you don't know how much i appreciate it.

oh, and i forgot to mention. that this new birth control i have recieved, is a constant level of hormones. it does not change at all. so i think it WOULD be best to start new after my next period.
