Birth Control and Breast Size

I'm almost 18 years old and I'm about to go on birth control for my acne.
I would like to know if birth control pills increase breast size.

My sister's have small breasts and so does my mom (with exception to one of my sisters), and my breast size is barely a 34-A cup. I would like to know if birth control will have a direct increase on my breast size, or if my family genetics of small breasts (in my direct family) will override any increase in bust.

Also, I would like to know if any breast increase is PERMANENT!

And lastly, I would like to know if it's at all possible for me to go from a 34-A to a 35-B on this pill (considering my direct family genetics of small breasts) AND if I will increase body fat everywhere because of this, (I'm about 5'9" and put ALL of my weight on my bottom and thighs).

This sounds farfetched I'm sure, but I've started a diet and exercise routine so that I can lose the fat off of my lower body, in hopes that I will not gain weight there while I'm on the pill, but on my breasts...I feel that my family genetics may rule this out.

...Can anyone help me!?!

-Forever grateful.

Breast size can increase in some people but I am not sure its very likely. I went from a 34B to a 34DD while on the pill when I was 20. And yes the change is permenant, so be careful what you wish for. But I have family genetics of large breasts. I can also say that my mother had the same kind of breast growth while on birth control. Honestly I think it is very unlikely that birth control will cause an increase in breast size. Hope that helps.

I wish it were true for me! I'm like you, a 34A.. The only thing that has ever increased my breast size is breast feeding, (not even pregnancy, just breast feeding) and even then it only went up to a 34B and went right back when I was done! Small breasts just run in my family unfortuntatly! ;-) The good news is, I haven't ever noticed any weight gain from bc either. You win some you lose some I guess! ;-)

Silly me ... I replied below before I saw you'd restarted a new thread! hehe, oops. Well, as I said below ...

Sorry, honey, but while the pill's hormones *might* cause your breasts to swell a *little*, there's really no way you're going to go from a 34A to a 34B. And even if they do swell, it's probably not going to be permanent. Trust me. I'm a 32A and spent 7 years on the Pill, and like you, my weight is carried in my hips and thighs (i'm 5'7" and 130 lbs) ... there's no way to make your hips migrate to your chest ... wouldn't that be great?? Alas, not going to happen. We all wish there was some magic "boob pill" but there's not. If you want them bigger, surgery's the only way to go!

As for losing weight, you cannot "spot-reduce" your trouble areas. If you're genetically inclined to carry your weight on your bottom half, that's where you'll carry it. While losing body fat is great and will help your overall appearance, it's not going to disappear off just the areas you want. Trust me. My best friend was always my size and physical type, when she put on 30 lbs, she suddenly had B-cups. She lost it all and now she's back to A's. Mother Nature is great like that, huh?

Hmmm ... although after reading the other replies, it seems that maybe it *can* make some people's breasts grow. Although i have to say, i don't know about you but I'd rather be my tiny A than a 32DD ... that would have to hurt when I went running!!

I don't think it is very likely. I am no longer on birth control pills, but during my period my breast size goes up by half-full cup size naturally. I am a 34B and some months my bra just gets a little tight, and others they go up to a 34 C. I have to be carefull when I get bra fittings, because if I am too close to my period, they will put me in the 34C when normally I really only need a 34B. When I was on nordette, the growing size kept happening, but when I was on a progestron only pill, my breasts never flucuated in size. They were always a 34B.

I tend to gain weight on my thighs and hips, but I lose it up top first. I was always afraid to do any upper body workouts because I just lose everything up top. At my normal weight, I am a full 34B, when I am "skinnier" I am like a A-half.. you know the in between an A and B cup size range. Luckily Playtex makes half-cup size :) It is great to work a little harder on your lower body, but don;t neglect your upper body because of that. Your arms and abs will look better if you do some toning.

I wouldn't go on birth control trying to up your cup size, or plan on it happening no matter what your reasons are for going on birth control. Be happy with what you have. I love smaller cup size days so I don't have to wear a bra with tank/halter/tube tops. For the days you want a little boost for an occassion or just a really cute top that would fit better with a larger cup size try using "Take-Outs". They go into your bra and boost you up a bit. You might need to get a larger cup size depending on how many you use, but they kind of give you the best of both worlds. You can be larger when you want. My bf thinks it is hilarious that I use these things, but he knows fashion is important to me and that some shirts just hang better when you are a little "bigger"

Good luck!
